Amsterdam 2017 – Travel Vlog Part 1

The first vlog of my Amsterdam trip is up! Instead of one really long vlog, I’m splitting it up into separate vlogs. Amsterdam is my favourite city out of all my travels to date, so I want to share as much as possible of this beautiful place 🙂

I should note that although I look like world’s most unimpressed and not enthusiastic person at the beginning of the vlog, I actually was very excited haha! But running on only 2 hours of sleep for the past 2 days and some flight issues prior to flying into Amsterdam, I was pretty tired after I landed. But the gorgeous views made me quickly forget that I was even tired 🙂

Highlights and places featured in this vlog:

The Pantry – for some traditional Dutch dishes, this place is a must visit!

Pancakes Amsterdam – highly recommend this place for some yummy authentic pannekoeken! Make sure to get here early as crowds and line ups do start forming closer to noon.

-Canal cruise around Amsterdam – since canals are so iconic to Amsterdam, the best way to see Amsterdam is of course, with a boat cruise going around the canals. There are a few companies to choose from, and they’re all pretty much the same. I think it depends on the boat leader you get, some have more to say than others, but overall the reviews for each company are relatively similar without much issue.

Van Gogh museum – Van Gogh is my favourite artist out of all the ‘big names’. It was such a treat to see the collection of his works, especially ‘Seascape at Scheveningen’ and ‘Congregation leaving the Reformed Church in Nuenen’ that was stolen for 14 years and only found last year! Make sure you set aside a good amount of time to fully immerse yourself in this museum!

-Daalder, I wrote a blog post of my lovely and very interesting evening here. Have a read if you haven’t had a chance yet 🙂

-Hotel I stayed at: Amadi Park Hotel. This hotel is modern, comfortable, clean, and what you would expect from elegant minimal Dutch designs. It’s quite convenient to get to the main areas around Amsterdam from here. The restaurant across the street is amazing too!

Enjoy the vlog, part 2 will be coming soon! I’ll be writing dedicated reviews for some of the places listed above, so keep an eye out for those as well 🙂
