Do you remember when you first picked up a Harry Potter book? Attended your first midnight book launch party (staying up until midnight for a book party was considered badass to me at 10, just go with it)? Or spending countless hours reading this book series? I sure remember these memories vividly. It has been 9 years since J.K. Rowling published the 7th (and final at the time) book of the series. Needless to say, many people were beyond excited for the release of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child on July 31! This newest addition to the series is based on the play script for the highly anticipated new performance in London. Taking place 19 years from where it left off.
Of course I had to attend the midnight release for this book as I did in the past, definitely brought back nostalgic memories. I snapped a bunch of photos from one of the Indigo releases I was at. You bet I was excited!
Each purchase came with a themed tote bag and some colouring sheets. *I purchased the chess bookstand a few years ago and was not included in this tote.
There were a few props around to take some Instagram moments 😉
Giddy like an 8 year old again when I got my hands on a copy!
I don’t want to give too many spoilers as the book was just released. It is definitely different than the previous books in the series given that this is a play script, but I enjoyed it and looking forward to watching the play when I visit London soon! I think the acting would add some richness to the thoughts and feelings Rowling envisioned. In the meantime, think of this book as an appetizer sampler at a nice restaurant, and the play is the entree to really experience the Chef’s tricks and skills.
Great line up. We’ll be linking to this amazing post on our website.
Keep up the great writing.
