Lately, this one quote has stuck with me quite closely “‘What’ and ‘If’ two words as nonthreatening as words come. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: What if?” This post is also inspired by my good friend Elizabeth. Check out her post ‘Make It Happen’!
What if that trip you chose not to take could be the one that ‘changed your life for the better’? Or those unspoken words that you were too afraid to let out because of pride, fear? Those words could very well be the best thing that’s happened to you. What if you took a road simply because it was the easy way out? And sooner or later, you realize it is difficult to go another route? Having certain situations happen to loved ones around me and myself these past few months, it has encouraged me to take those extra steps rather than look back years from now and wonder: WHAT. IF.
But the common question is: how does one push themselves to take those extra steps?
Speaking from personal experience, I have come to realize that those temporary moments of discomfort and fear does not even measure to the permanent regrets further down the road and looking back, constantly asking the ‘what if’.
Whether you choose to take that leap, it is entirely up to you, but why live a life of regrets and what ifs, when you can learn from the mistakes and oops instead? Hey, at least you can say you tried and gave it your best shot.
