YWCA Women of Distinction Awards love: thank you’s and hugs

Since I haven’t officially thanked everyone for all the kind words, support, and love, I want to dedicate this blog post to you all as my way of showing my gratitude!

  • Family + friends: You guys really spoil me even when I don’t deserve it sometimes. Thank you for always making me a priority in your lives and being there for me, especially the not so great periods I’ve had in my life. Thank you for the times where you care about parts of my life even more than I did ❤
  • Mentors: I’ve been extremely blessed to have had a couple of inspiring mentors in the past few years to learn from. I really wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for all the things you taught me and guidance.
  • My nominators: From my incredible mentor that decided to nominate me to the individuals that supported the nomination with letters of support, I can’t thank you all enough. Thank you for believing in the work I’ve done in the past few years and constantly keeping me motivated.
  • People that voted + showered me with lots of love and kind words: A big thank you to those that helped spread the word and voted so I can have the opportunity to donate $10K to prevent violence against women. The amount of love and kind words in the past 2 months was definitely overwhelming (in a good way)!

Although I was not the final recipient of the award for my category, being a finalist and honoured as a woman of distinction along with 57 of the most inspiring and accomplished women in Vancouver is something to be truly blessed about.

I would also like to congratulate the 5 other nominees in my award category. I’m really glad we had the chance to share our stories and get to know each other last evening, you are all incredibly amazing and will do even bigger things in the future! I can’t wait to see what they will be 🙂

***Big hugs and congrats to Isabel Chen for being the recipient of the 2014 Young Woman of Distinction Award! Well deserved!***

PLEASE take some time to get to know these ladies and their projects! The work they do to help others is really something!

Congrats to all the other category nominees and award recipients! It was a well deserved recognition for all of you last evening! Thank you YWCA for the amazing work that you do to support women!

I hope to see more familiar faces next year being recognized for all the inspiration and dedication you bring to our community 🙂

  1. Vuitton Chan

Thanks Elizabeth! You’ve been so so supportive of everything I’ve done and those around you I can’t thank YOU enough. You are definitely doing really amazing things, and many many more to come 🙂

  2. Congratulations, Vuitton! The work you do to support the prevention of violence against women is worthy of being amplified in the community. You truly are a woman of distinction (of compassion, of talent, and all of that wonderful stuff) and deserve to be recognized as such. Cheers! 🙂
